Nothing beats the experience of sitting down to talk with a true hustler. Ali Levine of Ali Levine Design is just that; an incredibly well dressed hustler. Born and raised in New York, Ali first gained experience in the industry with some big brands including Target, Coach and Talbots. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2010, she's worked on feature films and television shows including Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, X-Men First Class and New Girl.
Recently, Ali has focused on growing her personal brand of style and design. Her website has a lovely blog which you can visit here. Ali also recently appeared on Macy's "The Next Style Star", which is an online show produced by Maker Studios. Ali's YouTube channel is packed with videos about how to dress for specific occassions and tons of style tips for glamming up your wardrobe. This girl is on her way up and we're so pleased she's joined the D'Marie publisher network.
On a recent trip to Los Angeles, Ali and I met for coffee and she answered three of our favorite questions...
DM: Why did you become a Stylist?
AL: I am not only a stylist but a fashion expert and an artist. I create looks from inspirations based off whatever sparks my interest, women in the streets who I will never meet, Sunday brunch, myself, and images in fashion magazines. I live and breathe fashion. I fell into styling while working on the production team for the movie "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps". Oliver Stone (the director) saw my passion for fashion and gave me a position to assist the head costume designer.
DM: Describe your personal style.
AL: My personal style is both edgy and classic. A little bit of bohemian with some edge, color and bling. I love to mix it up with my looks, especially with accent jewelry.
DM: Who are your personal fashion influencers?
AL: My fashion influencers... this is a tough one there are many. Dior, Dolce and Gabana, Valentino and Karl Lagerfeld to name a few.
